We want to realize a collaboration between sophisticated design and art as expression.

■To the extent that you can currently be open about it, could you tell us about any future attempts or prospects that UZ Fabric is aiming for?

"I want to be proactive in artistic endeavors. Rather than just being a brand that makes things, I want to collaborate with artists. I just like that kind of thing.

The UZ Fabric logo was also inspired by overseas art shows and exhibitions. I've always wanted the overall atmosphere of the brand to have a slightly European, artistic feel. So, while there may still be some aspects of our products that are "ordinary" right now, our vision for the future is to do something together with various people and creators involved in art."

■Let me go into a bit more detail. For example, when I asked you about your definition of "cool" earlier, the keywords "sophisticated" and "well-organized" came up. What's interesting here is that art is beautiful, but at the same time, it can also be rough and unrefined. Sophisticated design and art actually have opposite meanings.

"Simply put, it's because I can't do it myself. It's because I admire it. I admire the idea of 'expression'. I particularly like what is called contemporary art, but I'm not particularly knowledgeable about writers or artists. Even if I go to a big exhibition overseas, even if it's someone I don't know at all, I just look at it based on whether I like it or not, and I like to look at it and get a sense, even if I don't understand, of what it's trying to express. And that's why I admire it. So, even when collaborating with artists, I want to be close to that kind of thing. I want to develop freely, not be bound by rules."
